Memories of Hokkaido Day II (Part 2)

This photo shows the inside of an Ainu home (modified to house more people for their live demonstrations of Ainu life.)







The Ainu hang dried, preserved fish on their ceilings for years and consume them at anytime. The dried, preserved fish can last up to ten years.






This is an Ainu Village Chief. His long hair and bear are authentic. People have mistaken him to be a Kami (God) when he walks home in his Ainu clothes.






This is an Ainu village-girl playing an Ainu tune using a mouthpiece/instrument made from wood which produces a twang-twang like sound.






This is an Ainu mother singing a lullaby to calm her restless child to sleep.
