Maroon Splotches, Want More Paint With That?

One of the many things that has taught me a valuable lesson is, our thoughts can either control us or work for us.

If we think happy thoughts, we are happy.
If we think sad thoughts, we are unhappy.

Change the way you think, give your mind a fresh coat of paint.

Challenge yourself to do the following everyday, if not, at least twice/thrice a week.

#1: Devote 5 minutes to think just happy thoughts.
#2: Give yourself a hug in the morning, and in the evening before you go to bed.
#3: Breathe in and out deeply.
#4: Write down your best qualities and your worse qualities. For every best quality you list, strike off 2 of your worse qualities.
#5: You are your own best friend.

Crimson Blade Slices The Deep Blue Sky

Don't be afraid to engage people.
Don't be afraid to speak up for what is right.
Don't be afraid to do your best.
Don't be afraid to say you are tired.
Don't be afraid to try.

Brown Shoes On A Grey Shoe Rack

Supposed the most important person in your life were to pack up and leave away to a far off land, what would be your first reaction?

Supposed the least important person in your life were to pack up and leave away to a far off land, what would be your first reaction?

And now, suppose that the most important person and the least important person in your life met up in that far away land and get married, what would be your first reaction?

Again, suppose that after they have gotten married, their child now becomes the least important person in your life and your child is the most important person in your life.

Finally, suppose that their child proposes to marry your child, what would be your first reaction?

Doesn't life make a sport out of us?

Pink Lillies In A Silver Pond

Its one thing to ask God for good results, its another to ask God for good results and study at the same time.
Its one thing to ask God for healing, its another to ask God for healing and stop talking about how bad your condition is.
Its one thing to ask God for good friends, its another to ask God for good friends and stop mixing around with the wrong company.

Its one thing to say you will always be there for someone, its another for you to never be there for someone.
Its one thing to say you will always love someone, its another for you to never love someone.
Its one thing to say you will always be be sad, its another for you to lift up someone else's day.

Indigo Gloves Against A Shining Sky

Hello blog readers, how has your week been?

For me, its been a slow and steady week, with Chinese New Year gone, my examinations are around the corner with the first paper this coming Wednesday.

Just this morning, I read in the Straits Times about Pastor Rony Tan's remarks about gays and lesbians which angered the online community in Singapore with many demanding for a public apology and Pastor Rony Tan refusing to apologise, standing by his beliefs.

Lets look at both sides of the coin, shall we?

On one hand, we have the online community who are angered by Pastor Rony Tan's remarks which are in nature, very demeaning to gays in particular as he states that "many but not all gays molest young children in turn creating more gays." The argument is that not many gays molest young children (in my own opinion, even straight men molest young children be they boys or girls).

On the other hand, Pastor Rony Tan is standing by his beliefs and is non-apologetic about his remarks. He insisted that he has nothing against the LGBT community but only their lifestyles.

How about the context of the video?
I believe that Pastor Rony Tan was interviewing a former lesbian and that was where his remarks came in.
Did he say those words out of a flurry or did he wanted to get a message across to people?

I believe that those who sided with him share the same beliefs as him in that they do not condone the gay or lesbian lifestyle but they love the person while on the other hand, those who saw his remarks as being a message to people that he is putting down gays/lesbians were angered.

Hence, its up to the individual to decide how he/she views and concludes this matter.

Lets talk about other matters.

I am very thankful and grateful to God for His confirmation yet again of His promise/s. Just yesterday when I was having a consultation with my psychiatrist, I mentioned to him about the outbreak of hives on my skin and voila, He gave me some medication for the hives. God is truly good and awesome, amen?

We all have many friends and acquaintances but we only have 1 family.
We all have many friends and acquaintances but we only have 1 best friend.
We all have many friends and acquaintances but we only have 1 confidant.

I want to thank my friends, Edel, Alfred and Teck Seng for being there for me these couple of months, encouraging me and being a listening ear to me. Thanks so much guys, <3 you all.

I want to thank my classmates, Farid, Sufyan, Yi Xuan, Jian Xiong, Lay Leng, Chu Ying, Pei Lin, Vivian , Hui San, Hui Yong and Ting Ting for being such wonderful people to me in school for helping me so much when I couldn't help myself. Even though I won't be in the same class as you all with you guys going on to Year 3 and me resuming Year 2, I want to say thank you very much.

Green Circlets Spinning Around In Space

Its been a blast these couple of days, I thank God for the people in my life who are dear to me, *hugs them tightly* who have been encouraging me. Thank you all so much.

Last night, my family celebrated my mom's birthday at Junction 8's Pu Tian Restaurant. The food was simply awesome, loved their soup, rice and fried bee hoon. YUMMY! Happy Birthday Mummy! :)

I have been asking God the word "Why?" about some things pertaining to my life over the years and God, He really is Good. I bought a copy of Pastor Joseph Prince's book - Reigning in Life and have caught a lot of revelations that really gave me a sense of relief and freedom in Christ. I do highly recommend this book for those who have been taught in Church all along that you need to work to gain God's approval, blessings, healing, etc, this will really change your mind and everything you believed in Christianity.

Here are some links to my most favourite Christian speakers' websites:
Joyce Meyer: http://www.joycemeyer.org
Description: Joyce Meyer speaks often on the need to first love ourselves before we can love others. She is well-known for preaching on how to live our lives according to the Bible often with humour and hard spoken truth. Do catch her TV broadcasts everyday at Joyce Meyer Ministries.

Joseph Prince: http://www.josephprince.org
Description: Joseph Prince speaks about the Grace of God and how it helps us live a life of victory against sickness, debt, condemnation and works of the flesh. Listen to his messages and you will see and even comprehend what Jesus had really accomplished for us on the Cross. Do catch his video podcasts at Joseph Prince Ministries.

My nephew, Ashley, came over to play at our place yesterday. He's very adorable, haha! He even closed our cat in my elder brother's bathroom. He's 7 years old this year and hes getting really tall. I predict that when hes 12 he will even taller than me.

Light Orange Punch

Dear blog readers, how have you been?

Sidenote: I am thankful for the handful of regular visitors who tag my tagboard frequently and who give me feedback on my blog, thank you again for your continuous support :)

Chinese New Year is around the corner, I've invited the ladies over for a meal.

I was extremely disappointed and disgusted with a so-called "friend" whom I now consider an acquaintance.

Exams are coming, am keeping all the pressure and stress under control.

I'm learning what the word "Resilience" means, day by day. I'm still praying, receiving visions from the Lord about the ministry and am believing that He will fulfil His promise that He would send the right people along the way. It is definitely lonely doing everything by myself but I am joyful that the Lord is giving me strength, purpose and hope for tomorrow.

I feel so excited about the ministry and restaurant to come. If nobody pitches in any help, God is the One who provides for me and the ministry. All the more I am thankful that I am doing this alone, but I know the time will come when the people God has purposed will join in this ministry.

I'm experiencing what John experienced. He was alone on the Island of Patmos when God gave him visions, hope and strength in his times of loneliness. Praise be to God.

Everything will work together for my good :)

Pleasant Visit From The Fragrant Harbor

My eldest cousin and his wife came over to Singapore and visited us and our family yesterday, I was very happy to see him again after 17 years (yes, its that long). I'm glad to be able to see him and also his wife for the first time, they are a lovely couple.

My dad brought everyone to a restaurant at OCC (Orchid Country Club) to have dinner with our uncles and aunties and a very excited grandmother.

My eldest cousin and his wife will be going back today to Hong Kong, am hoping to see them again but I hope its not another 17 years again.

On another note, I have been fighting, striving and struggling for the ministry all by myself, I thank God for His grace, His strength and His blessing which kept me going on despite so many setbacks in the initial stages. If no one wants to do it with me, I will do it all by myself until the time comes when the Lord sends more people my way. I will not falter in my faith and not be shaken because "greater is He who is in me that he that is in the world."

White Spots Against The Blue Wall

Some people are just out to let people know virtually everything about their lives, be it on Facebook or Twitter.

Here is an example of a user Holey on Twitter:

12:12pm Wow just woke up and brushed my teeth.

12:17pm Does eating breakfast in the noontime constitute as lunch? Or brunch?

12:30pm Just washed my hands after having my meal. Was it lunch, brunch or breakfast?

12:42pm Just **** in the bathroom. Love the smell.

12:50pm Whats up people? Am doodling with my fingers now, plain bored!

1:00pm Ga ga oo ra ra, Im listening to Lady Gaga now.

1:05pm Lady Gaga ROXX!!! My pants just slipped off from all that Bad Romance dance moves!

1:12pm BORRREEEEDDDDDDD! Just combed my hair... again.

Mmmm...

[Food for Thought]
I made myself a salmon sandwich for lunch today, added in margarine, cucumber and tomato slicers and NO mayo. Delicious!

For dinner, I ate a chicken wing my maid cooked and for the rest I ate a bowl of cereal swimming around in HL milk followed by a cheese sandwich. Delicious!

[Monthly Gathering]
Yesterday when the ladies came over to my place to supposedly do our POA project and also some revision for Software Engineering, we finished both quite quickly and then we began to sing on the karaoke set, followed by chit chat and makan. Yesterday marked the beginning of our monthly karaoke session at my place. I'm definitely looking forward to the next session :)

[Visions & Dreams]
And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people.Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions.
- Joel 2:28 (NIV)

Yesterday was another confirmation of God's hand in my life, the thing He spoke to me, truly Praise God! :)

Daniel Yoleh: Mid January 2010

Greetings blog readers, have you noticed some sublime changes in the way I title most of my posts for this year (2010)?  If you have, congratulations :) If you haven't, try looking again. (The devil is in the details.)

I haven't been feeling well in my body due to the outbreak of hives, rashes, weakness in my limbs. You name it, there it is. I've been feeling tremendously stressed over many things and am still sorting them out one by one.

Starting from today...
I will not be answering any phone calls except urgent ones.
I will not be replying any sms messages except really urgent ones.
I will not be replying any e-mails.
I will not be logging into MSN for the time being.

Do pardon me as I need to stabilise my emotions and mind for the time being. Hope you can be understanding :)

Uphill Plains and Downhill Ravines Under The Purple Skies

Some kinds of people that irk me are:
1.) Those that come into a room and start losing their temper, scolding people.
2.) Those that blast loud music in open places or on the bus/MRT.
3.) Those that refuse to move in to the center of the MRT cabin.

Some kinds of people that make me feel glad are:
1.) Those who give you a smile even if you didn't smile at them in the first place.
2.) Those who say please, or , thank you when asking for favours.
3.) Those who give you a hug when you need it.

Where there's the negative, it must be balanced by the positive.
Where there's the sadness, it must be balanced by the happiness.

If your feeling sad on Mondays, make it a point to feel happy on Tuesdays.
If your feeling angry on Tuesdays, make it a point to feel relaxed on Wednesdays.
If your feeling happy on Wednesdays, allow a day to feel down or neutral.

Wishing all my blog readers the best week ever :)

Calm Waves Beneath An Ocean

Good day readers :)

I would like to share something with you all today:

Amongst all the chaos and confusion going around in the world today such as the very negative news we read in the newspapers everyday to the everyday mishaps and misadventures, why not make or do something good for either yourself or somebody else?

As they say, a little difference goes a long way.

Anyway, here are some things that you can do to brighten up your day or somebody else's:
1.) Give a hug
2.) Say something nice
3.) Smile
4.) Offer to do something
5.) Have a conversation  (definitely not with yourself)

Having a lot of frustrations and worries pent up? Take some time to smile, relax and have a good laugh :)
I do that myself when I feel very down or worried or just stressed. It helps, trust me.

Wishing you all a great weekend! :)

Grey Clouds Against A Blue Sky

If your life is based on purely emoticons, what would they be?

A scenario
-----------
Night before: :O
During sleep: -_-
In the morning: :(
At work: O_O
Gossiping in the office pantry: :D
Knock off from work: :D
Before bedtime: :(

For me, well it would be this scenario on a typical day...
Night before: -_-
During sleep: -_-
In the morning: :D
At school: :O
Gossiping with the ladies: :D
After school: -_-
Before bedtime: :D

For the dearest lazy people out there who loathe Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays:
Night before: :O
During sleep: -_-
In the morning: -_o
At work: -_o
Gossiping in the office pantry: O_O
Knock off from work: :D
Before bedtime: -_-

For the very very hyperactive people out there:
Night before: :D
During sleep: :D
In the morning: -_-
At work: :D
Gossiping in the office pantry: :D
Knock off from work: :O
Before bedtime: :D

How about you, my blog reader? What emoticons can depict your life? :)

Black Swirls and Orange Stripes For A Person

In this fast paced society,

  1. people who walk slower than 12km/h are considered slow
  2. people who speak slowly and clearly are considered slow
  3. people who eat slowly chewing piece by piece are considered slow
And the reverse is true.
  1. people who walk faster than 12km/h are considered to be rushing for reincarnation
  2. people who speak quickly are considered to be unclear
  3. people who eat quickly are considered overstressed
Hold on to yourself in this fast paced society so you wouldn't lose yourself. :)

Could It Be?

A glimpse of hope?
A ray of light?
A moment of wonder?
A time for new things?
A speck of renewed dreams?

Whatever it is, as the coming new year, 2010, approaches. What are some things that I can reflect on/look forward to?

[Reflections]
There are so many regrets and so little joy but I can proudly say that they all served as a purpose to make me stronger, better and tougher.
I am grateful for my school friends who took care of me due to my condition, without them, I'd really be helpless and alone in my fight with my condition.
I am grateful for my parents, siblings, grandma and relatives whom gave me the strength and support I needed.
I am grateful for having friends whom even though I did not keep in contact with them, they still showed me in their own ways that they cared.
I am grateful for most importantly, my God whom has taught me so much this year and His grace which kept me going.

[Looking Forward To]
Make more new friends with my new class the next coming semester.
Help others in more ways.
Know Him more.

And with that, I like to wish all my blog readers and visitors a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! :)

Solitude Mixed In With A Little Glimpse of Eternity

What is my purpose here on this planet Earth?
Is it to just:
Study, get married, have kids through the Mrs, watch them grow up and grow old myself and then retire to the grave as a dusty white skeleton?

For me, its just more than that.
My dream to open CafeReal - a Cafe that serves the best food in any cafe.
My dream to open CafeReal Productions - where it serves as my platform to speak into the lives of others.
My dream to open porridge serving outlets - to feed the hungry and the poor.

Yoleh, don't just dream big. Dream bigger with the dreams God wants you to dream.

Your life had changed that moment on the bus ride to your home.
You had seen the glimpse of eternity and the reward to come.

My goal? Maiximising my gifts and talents for the greater good of others.
Breaking down the barriers of criticism and limitation by making my decision today.

How about you? Have you made your decision today? :)
