Moo2Maple: The Life and Tardiness of A Bishop in MapleStory
This is a blog post that incorporates the blogs Moo2Maple and Absolutely Daniel Yoleh.
What does it mean to be a Bishop in MapleStory?
Is a Bishop just a "spammer" that spams his Ultimate from the levels of 120 all the way to 200? Is a Bishop just a "party essential" because of his key support skills such as Holy Shield and Ressurection? There's much much more to being a Bishop in MapleStory.
The Core of the Bishop
a.) Adaptability
An all out efficient mage class that has the Ultimate - Genesis which attacks up to 15 monsters with Holy attribute. The Bishop can level fast by just spamming Genesis at Skelegons/Skelesauroses.
A Bishop can sell "spamming" services, which lets a client leech purely from the Bishop for a fee while he spams Genesis for a set duration of time. The Bishop and the client both gain EXP from this.
Parties love the Bishop not just for his Holy Symbol buff but also for his Genesis attacking ability which greatly increases the rate of EXP gained for all party members.
b.) Survivability
The survivability of the Cleric/Priest is carried onto the Bishop and is enhanced further.
Bishops that go for bossing runs such as Anego/Samurai Knight/Zakum/Papulatus have added defence buffs such as Invincible and Elemental Resistance.
Anego: Invincible reduces her slap attack by 30% of the full damage, meaning a 12,000 hit slap now becomes a 8,400 hit instead which is survivable for a Bishop who has 3-4k HP +10-12k MP with a Dark Knight's HyberBody buff.
Samurai Knight: Invincible reduces his touch damage by 30% of the full damage as well.
Zakum: Elemental Resistance reduces all of Zakum's elemental attacks on the Bishop by 50% when maxed. This applies to fire/lightning/poison and ice attacks.
Papulatus: Invincible reduces Papulatus's body damage by 30%. Elemental Resistance reduces Papulatus's ice and lightning attacks by up to 50% when maxed.
The Awesome Skills of the Bishop
a.) Genesis
- Deals Holy damage on up to 15 monsters.
- Very useful for bossing (but is pot consuming).
- Used for fast EXP gain when either soloing or in a party.
- Revives all dead party members on the spot with full HP.
- Does not restore lost EXP from dying.
- A Holy dragon which deals Holy damage on 3 monsters.
- Deals considerably higher damage than Summon Dragon.
- Useful for bossing.
- Protects all party members from status effects such as Seal, Curse, Darken and Weaken.
- Deals very high Holy damage to devil based monsters, but attacks a single target at one time only.
- Used as an alternative to Genesis for bossing.
- When combined with Bahamut, deals very high damage to bosses.
a.) Papulatus
Using both Angel Ray and Bahamut makes a good deal for this boss.
b.) Samurai Knight
Spamming Heal/Angel Ray works effectively on this boss.
Pots Used Frequently By Bishops When Spamming
a.) Ginger Ale
Recovers 75% HP and MP.
b.) Mushroom Miso Ramen
Recovers 80% HP and MP.
c.) Power Elixir
Recovers 100% Hp and MP.
d.) Wizard Elixir
Adds 20 Magic Attack for 8 minutes.
e.) Yakisoba
Adds 10 Magic Attack for a certain duration.

Mmmmmm
(Dear readers, you will find the content of today's post to be bits and pieces of random stuff, so please do bear with me...)
I love the smell of the morning air at my home, its nice to see the sky in red and orange hues and hear the usual bird chirping. The morning reminds me that a brand new day has started and since its the school holidays, I can get a little bit more extra sleep in the mornings, haha!
Let me talk about what I did this whole week...
Monday to Thursday was spent entirely on Mapling. I let my MapleStory darling leech off my Bishop during those four days. On Friday, I met up with my friend cum insurance agent, Karen. We had a good talk at Starbucks (and yes, thank you Karen for the lovely gifts especially the Meiji chocolates!), I told her on the recent happenings in my life including my giddy and fainting spells plus my breakup with my ex-girlfriend and how I am progressing on the 2nd year of my school term at Nanyang Polytechnic's School of Information Technology.
And now moving on, I've been catching up with my favourite Animes - Soul Eater and One Piece on AnimeBlogz. For Soul Eater, I find it sad that Shinigami sama is now dead. He died a heroic death, shielding Kid kun and the rest from the Kishin's blast. I was quite surprised that the Kishin would actually murder Arachne and consume her soul. I'm expecting the last round of fights in the upcoming episodes. As for One Piece, I have to say its getting better and better with each episode. Luffy and Sunny-go FTW!

My MapleStory Achievements
1st Achievement: I scrolled 7 60% Scrolls for Wand for Magic Attack on my Dragon Wand and passed 6! Woohoo! The TMA now is 141.
It's a first for me having passed 6 slots in a row.
(To the person who hacked my account early this year, the joke's on you pal.)
2nd Achievement: Yes! I've been finally helmed thanks to Elnovo who helped me get my Zakum helmet.
(And again to the person who hacked my account, the joke's on you x2.)

For MapleSEA Players... Experiencing Lag?
I've been experiencing great lag (or rather, latency) while playing MapleSEA. My concern was that the Starhub servers (which host the game service) was the cause of the lag, however, a confirmation with other Maplers proved otherwise.
Other steps I tried included toning down the graphic quality of the game, clearing my system's temporary files, setting Windows Vista to be as basic as possible in terms of appearance (which means turning off Windows Aero) but none of these worked.
A final step I took this evening was this...
I turned off my Windows Vista Firewall and voila! No more lag. Magic.
