Absolutely Daniel Tutorial - MapleStory Priest Guide
I hope that this will be a useful guide to Maplers out there who wanna know how to maximise the potential of their Priests in MapleStory.
Being a Priest is easy, all you need to do is mainly heal, buff and leech if you love being in parties, or simply spam heal at Undead monsters.

1.) Why Do We Love Priests?
1.) They are the only support class in MapleStory with awesome skills. (Skills being Holy Symbol, Dispel, Mystic Door and Doom.)
2.) They have the capability to gain extra experience and let their parties benefit from this too. (Come on, let's be honest, who doesn't party a Priest mainly for Holy Symbol?)
3.) They can solo undead monsters with ease. (Just spam heal and let the experience come flying.)
4.) Priests are pot savers. (With Invincible and MP Eater when training at Undeads, Priests can save on pots.)
5.) Priests ensure survivability during boss battles.
2.) Why Do We Hate Priests?
1.) They do not buff at regular intervals if their aim is just to leech experience.
2.) They do not heal party members if they expect self potting.
3.) They have such wonderful support and offensive skills.
4.) They are more popular than other mage classes during boss battles like Zakum.
5.) They can be arrogant at times (just a minority case.)
3.) What Skills Do Priests Have?
3.1) Supportive Skills
- Holy Symbol
- When maxed, offers 10% bonus experience when soloing OR 50% bonus experience when in a party.
- Disadvantage: Your Priest will be left defenseless for 2 seconds when casting this skill if you are not hanging on a rope/ladder.
- Advantage: This skill makes you welcomed in any party.
- Dispel
- When maxed, this skill can dispel any status effect like Seal, Darkened, Weakened, Poisoned and Curse except Stun or similar effects to Stun with a success rate of 100%.
- There will be a skill called Holy Shield when you advance to a Bishop at Level 120, that skill works in every way similar to Dispel except that it only needs to be cast once and will last for a certain duration.
- If you plan to add your Skill Points into Holy Shield when you advance to a Bishop, do not put any Skill Points into Dispel or vice versa as they make each other redundant.
- Elemental Resistance
- When maxed, offers up to 50% reduction in elemental magic attacks from monsters/bosses ranging from fire, lightning and ice-based magic attacks. This skill also reduces the damage from Undead monsters in Ludibrium Clocktower: Forgotten Path of Time I-IV as their magic attacks are included under Elemental Resistance even though there is no obvious way of determining which is which in some cases.
- Mystic Door
- A free Town scroll-like skill except the difference in you and your party members can travel to/from town to/from any map (except certain maps where Mystic Door is not allowed like Boss maps etc.)
- If any of your party members become dead, they can come back through the use of Mystic Door. (Spare a thought for them, open the door at a safe spot.)
- This skill will require 1 Magic Rock to be used per cast.
- Not recommended for maxing, in most cases, leaving just 1 Skill Point in this skill will do.
- Doom
- A skill that changes up to 6 monsters into blue snails for a certain duration depending on skill level. Even when maxed, it does not guarantee a 100% success rate all the time.
3.2) Offensive Skills
- Shining Ray
- When maxed, deals high, consistent damage up to 6 Undead / Devil-based monsters or both (Not all Undead monsters take full damage from this Holy-based spell.)
- This skill has a higher mastery rate than Heal, so damage applied across the monsters hit will be much more stable.
- When used on Non-Undead / Non-Devil-based monsters, the damage will be weakened by 50%.
- Feel free to combine this skill with Heal when training alone.
- Summon Dragon
- A dragon will be summoned for a certain duration by your side (depending on Skill Level) and attacks only 1 monster at a time.
- Requires 1 Summoning Rock per cast.
- Take Note: This Skill does not need to be maxed, allocating just 15 Skill Points into this Skill will do as a Bishop Skill: Bahamut, only requires Level 15 of Summon Dragon as a prerequisite.
- This Dragon deals Neutral damage to all monsters.
