Foreign Talents

My take on this issue affecting every Singaporean man, woman and child is: It's a good and a bad.

Some of my Lecturers in my former ITE college are from India and they are pretty good at what they do in their fields, one of them is even a "god". From what my friend told me: "Whenever XXX teaches us Visual Basic programming, he says that 'Nothing in this world is perfect, not even programming.' While hes speaking to the class, hes typing out entire lines of code without even looking at his computer screen, he is god ah."

Just the other day, when i was waiting for my food to be prepared at a particular KFC outlet near my home, this Filipino woman came up to the counter. "Excuse me, but my food is cold." she remarked in English to a counter staff, who happens to be a Foreign Talent from China. The counter staff replied back in Mandarin, "This food only has either crispy or non-crispy version." I could see the frustration on the Filipino woman's face when her request did not get across to that particular counter staff.

As the Government says, Foreign Talent, helps boost our economy ya? I wonder what will happen if any of these Foreign Talents actually becomes MPs / NMPs. I simply can't imagine this.

I know that Foreign Talents are willing to do meagre jobs that no Singaporeans are willing to do, they are willing to accept a lower pay than Singaporeans and that they are very hardworking. However, if any Singaporeans lose their jobs to these people, this is not acceptable.
