Mothers' Day Drama

Here's what happened last Sunday during Mothers' Day.

My dad's supposedly "Hainanese Clan Association" organized a Mothers' Day Celebration and invited all of its members to bring their families for the occasion. My dad booked a table for my family including my aunties, an uncle and my little cousins.

Upon reaching the restaurant, to my horror, the "Hainanese Clan Association" was actually my dad's singing class group. There would be 39 song items for the entire program along with a 10 course dinner.

It was HELL...

Every song sung by each individual was either a screeching over the lungs sort, a monotonous sort or even a bland sort except for 1 or 2 rather good ones.

I was commenting on how horrible the singing was with my aunties and they couldn't agree more. We had to resort to counting down the number of songs left after each song item. My mother was amused by the whole thing as each singer sang a song my dad always sings at home which kinda irks us.

My dad asked me on my opinion on whether the stage singer sang the song better or worse than him, i refused to give him a answer. I simply said "I do not know".
